Weapons Storage Installation: Costa Mesa Police Department
June 21, 2019
The Costa Mesa Police Department is located in Costa Mesa, California. The department employs approximately 200 people who serve and protect Costa Mesa and the surrounding areas, preserving the peace and operating under a philosophy of community-oriented policing.
Weapons Storage Challenge
Costa Mesa PD had an unorganized and insecure system of securing their long guns and extra handguns. They wanted (and needed) an extra layer of security for their weapons when maintenance and unauthorized personnel were in the range storage room. With security and efficiency on the line, they needed a better weapons storage system.
Weapons Storage Solution
For Costa Mesa PD, security was a top priority. They needed something that would fit in their storage space and securely store long guns, extra handguns, ammo, and more while also allowing for easy inventory. The bi-fold door weapons storage cabinets were the perfect solution to this weapons storage problem.
“These cabinets are a quality product and work exactly as envisioned.”
– Jerry Hildeman, Training & Recruitment Sergeant
With the bi-fold doors receding fully into the cabinets instead of swinging outward, Costa Mesa PD was able to save space in their storage room and keep their weapons secure while making access more efficient for authorized personnel. The perforated doors and side panels provided exactly what they needed for easy inventory while still providing the extra layer of security they needed.
By installing a series of bi-fold door cabinets, we were able to provide a neat and systematic control measure to protect and secure weapons and to assist in accounting for Costa Mesa PD’s weapons.
